On Feb. 11, the US Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) announced it is awarding more than $212 million through the Market Access Program (MAP) and Foreign Market Development (FMD) program to help expand export markets for US food and agricultural products, including pet food.
The Pet Food Institute (PFI) was awarded more than $1.3 million through MAP. PFI and the pet food industry commit to providing matching contributions of at least 35% of the funding made available, according to the institute.
