Dating back to 2022, discoveries of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in the United States have impacted more than 184 million birds, 1,905 flocks. During that time, well over 21 million turkeys have been affected as well as more than 141 million layers. This past year, headlines of mammals being infected with the virus have surged, from dairy herds to even companion animals.
