Food and Drug Administration Deputy Commissioner for Food Kyle Diamantas said Tuesday that it will be difficult for the Trump administration to fulfill its promise to deliver a highly anticipated definition of ultra-processed foods by this month.
“A definition for ultra-processed foods is really hard,” Diamantas, who leads FDA’s Human Foods Program, said at the POLITICO Health Care Summit. “There’s not a great current definition for ultra-processed foods in our view.”
