FDA proposes GRAS definition, advances 'white paper' on ultraprocessed foods

FDA is proposing a rule that would require companies to notify the agency when they decide a food additive is “generally recognized as safe.” The agency has also sent OMB a white paper outlining a proposed definition for ultraprocessed food.
