Sustainability is no longer optional in the pet food industry — it’s mandatory if brands want to stay relevant, capture pet parent loyalty and, most importantly, reduce their environmental footprint and responsibly grow their businesses. Investing in and supporting regenerative agriculture is the latest sustainability initiative, targeting the very ingredients used to make pet foods. Though the concept of regenerative agriculture dates back to the 1980s, it’s relatively new to the pet food industry — and much newer to pet parents, the very ones driving demand for it.
