Cats are beginning to gain long-overdue attention in the pet industry as cat ownership continues to significantly grow throughout the United States. In fact, cat ownership has risen from 40 million US households in 2023 to 49 million in 2024, a 22.5% increase year-over-year, according to research from the American Pet Products Association. For reference, dog ownership rose 17.2% during the same period.
